Prepping for Asia Trip

Optimizing

In a few days, I’ll embark on a great adventure to Asia for two months followed by a month and a half in Brazil.

I want to be fully dialed in health-wise before I leave so I can run on autopilot while traveling to seven different countries.

I’ve used most of this past year with a special emphasis on the last three months to grind on my business, focus on my health, and finish off my cut. I’ve set myself up for success.

In the last 2 months, I lost 10 pounds.

I also improved my HbA1c, ApoB, Cholesterol, and Free and Total Testosterone.

In terms of health, I’ve noticed that it has a strong component of seasonality.

You have to find pockets within the year when life isn’t crazy, travel is at a minimum, and you’re not balls deep in work 18 hours a day.

For me, I had a nice five month window over spring and summer to get frequent bloodwork, test out new protocols, and refine my diet week-by-week.

Here was the outcome:

  • My testosterone has increased by 56% in 5 months

  • LDL decreased by 29% in 6 months

  • HbA1c lowered from from 5.4% to 4.9% in 4 months

I’ve had this Asia trip in mind all year fueling my motivation for extra cardio, less carbs, and getting high quality sleep.

It made being disciplined that much easier.

For you, take a look at your calendar and see when you have 1-2 months to really go all-in.

The longer the better. Once you’re in the groove, you can make lots of progress.

Getting your ass in motion is the hardest thing.

Similar to a plane, it takes a lot of energy to get that baby off the ground, but smooth sailing once at 30,000 feet.

Pick a season when you can dedicate time to focus on yourself.

Set a date for an event or vacation you have to look forward to.

Delayed gratification is the game here.

Short-term pain, for long-term gain.

Chip away, slow and steady.

Rome wasn’t built in a day. But the foundation that was built stood the test of time and we still can enjoy the results of that effort 2,775 years later.
